Violente Cupped Corset & Tutu

Karolina Laskowska Violente corset

2017

Silk duchesse, cotton bobbinet tulle, silk tulle, French chantilly leavers lace.

Originally this outfit was created for The Foundations Revealed 2017 contest, for which the theme was ‘Ballet’. The inspiration for this ensemble was drawn from the character of the fairy Violente from the Sleeping Beauty ballet. The creation process of this outfit can be viewed here.

The corset incorporates a mix of silk duchesse front and back panels, with flexible cotton bobbinet tulle sides. It is structured with a mix of 7mm flat and 5mm spiral steel bones. The cups feature a padded interior structure and underwires, with layered laces over the exterior. An interior adjustable bra band provides additional structure and support. The corset is cut for an extreme silhouette, with a closed 18.5″ waist and 15″ hip spring.

The matching tutu features multiple layers of ruffled silk tulle, a lace overlay and a silk duchesse interior knicker. The back of the knicker has an ouvert cut out with silk loops and satin covered buttons to close.

The corset has been profusely embellished with intricately hand sewn lace appliqué and a variety of sew-on Swarovski crystals.

This outfit has over 60 hours of work in it, the majority of which was spent hand sewing.
